In 2013 we celebrated our 40th year in business. This website illustrates just a few of the many projects which we have undertaken over the past 25 years in our Garratt Lane workshop.
A kitchen for very discriminating clients, an interior designer and an architect. A mixture of painted cupboards and teak faced drawers, with specially made handles of bronze.
This kitchen was both designed and made by us using proprietary carcases, doors and worktops. A very effective result at a reasonable price.
We were honoured to be chosen to supply dining furniture for the refectory; our Arts and Crafts inspired design is in English Oak.
The bases of these 18th century columns had decayed over time; we restored them using timber from the redundant teak staircase of the former “Sailor Prince” public house, now “The Wandle”. The work was commissioned by English Heritage.
Over 400 square metres of the original flooring was lifted by us without loss, it was slowly dried out and then carefully re-laid as before.
The geometric staircase had suffered much abuse over 240 years of hard use. We replaced many of the missing and damaged parts, as well as countering the effects of subsidence.
The existing in plaster was much deteriorated, an exact copy was carved in Russian deal and pear wood.
These discriminating customers already had fine 18th Century Style Commode of the 1890’s. We designed and made this matching bed in the style of the same period. The marquetry was made and inlaid by I J King and Son.
